Maruti Suzuki recently added its latest hatchback, the Swift, to its CNG portfolio. The new Swift CNG is available in three variants with prices ranging from Rs. 8.19 lakh to Rs. 9.19 lakh (ex-showroom). Now, after its launch, the CNG-powered Swift has started reaching showrooms across the country.
The Maruti Suzuki Swift CNG can be had in three versions – VXi, VXi (O), and ZXi. The top-of-the-line ZXi variant has features such as an LED light setup, 15-inch alloy wheels, nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, rear AC vents, and a keyless start/stop button.
Mechanically, the Swift CNG is powered by a 1.2-litre Z-series three-cylinder petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. In this state of tune, the engine produces 80bhp and 112Nm in standard mode. When switched to CNG, the power output is reduced to 69bhp and 102Nm of peak torque. As for fuel efficiency, the Swift CNG is said to return a maximum mileage of 32.85km/kg.
In other news, the automaker is all set to launch the compact-sedan version of the new Swift, the new-gen Dzire, in November. With the generational update, the new Dzire will get plenty of features such as an electric sunroof and a 360-degree surround camera.
