-The Maruti S-Presso is based on the Future-S Concept
-The model is likely to be launched in October
The upcoming Maruti Suzuki compact crossover, likely to be christened as the S-Presso, was spotted testing in India once again. The model, based on the Future-S Concept showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, is likely to be launched in India in October 2019.
The spy image suggests that the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso test-mule is a production-ready unit, internally codenamed as the Y1K. The S-Presso is the second model after the Vitara Brezza to be developed by Maruti’s R&D team based in Rohtak, Haryana.
Based on a modified version of the Heartect platform that also underpins the new generation WagonR, the Maruti S-Presso will be powered by a 1.0-litre, three-cylinder K10B petrol engine. This engine will be offered with a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit. Safety features to be available as a standard package on this model will include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alert system and front seatbelt reminders. Once launched, the Maruti Suzuki Future-S Concept based S-Presso will rival against the likes of the Renault Kwid.
