The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, will launch the much awaited S-Presso in India on 30 September. The upcoming hatchback will compete against the likes of the Renault Kwid in India and will be limited to a BS-VI compliant petrol engine.
As seen in spy images, the upcoming model gets a tall body design along with flared wheel arches for a beefier look. The high ground clearance along with the Vitara Brezza inspired grille elements, completes its micro-SUV look. It is believed that at the time of launch, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be offered in four variants - STD, LXI, VXI and VXI+. As seen in recent spy images, the base variant of the S-Presso is expected to get steel wheels, black body bumpers, basic ORVMs and body coloured B-pillars. The higher spec is expected to get Bluetooth enabled infotainment system, body coloured ORVMs and bumpers, and a central locking system.
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso will be powered by a BS-VI emission compliant 1.0-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine that will produce 68bhp and 90Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT gearbox. More details about the upcoming vehicle will be known post its official launch in the country later this month.
