- Maruti S-Presso features a BS-VI compliant petrol engine
- CNG variant could be launched early next year
Maruti launched the S-Presso in September this year with a BS-VI compliant 1.0-litre petrol engine. Now, new spy images reveal the CNG variant of the model that was spotted during a public road test. The model could be launched early next year.
The spy image shared on the web reveals an uncamouflaged unit of the Maruti S-Presso with emission testing equipment. As the petrol engine is already BS-VI compliant, the company is testing the CNG variant seen in the image here.
Powering the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso is a 1.0-litre, three cylinder petrol engine that produces 67bhp and 90Nm of torque. This engine is offered with a five-speed manual transmission and an AMT unit. Current rivals of the S-Presso that are available with a CNG variant include the Hyundai Santro and the Maruti SuzukiWagon R.
