Maruti Suzuki has sold a total of 1.21 lakh units in October 2015 as compared to 1.03 lakh units in the corresponding period last year resulting in a growth of 29.1 per cent. It also exported 13,146 units taking the total figure to 1.34 lakh units.
The top performers for the Indo-Japanese automaker were its vehicles in the B-segment. This list includes the Swift, Ritz, Celerio and the Dzire all of which, put together, sold a total of 51,048 units making for a significant chunk of their sales.
The Baleno which was launched on October 26 for a starting price of Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) is expected to contribute quite significantly to this number next month. It is their entry into the premium hatchback segment which has cars like Hyundai Elite i20, Honda Jazz, Volkswagen Polo and the Fiat Punto.
