Maruti Suzuki sold a total of 114,756 units in June 2015. The Indo Japanese automaker recorded a marginal growth of 1.8 per cent, with 112,773 units sold during the same period last year. This includes 102,626 units in the domestic market and 12,130 units in exports.
With this Maruti finished the first quarter with 341,329 units, a growth of 13.8 per cent over the same period the previous year.While the brand’s sub compact models including the Alto and the Wagon R took a hit in June 2015, with a decline of 27.9 per cent in sales during June 2015 compared to the previous year, the compact segment (including the Swift and the Celerio) did well with a 25 per cent rise in sales.
All in all, Maruti Suzuki continues to comfortably lead the Indian car market, followed by Hyundai India, Mahindra, Honda India, Toyota India and Tata Motors. The former’s next big launch is the S-Cross crossover that will take on the likes of Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano.
