Maruti Suzuki has sold 109, 264 units in July 2019 as compared to 164, 369 units in the corresponding period last year incurring a negative growth of -33.5 per cent.
This has been a tough month for the Indo-Japanese automaker as it has registered negative growth across nearly the entire range in July 2019 as compared to July 2018. The only major highlight for the automaker was the Ciaz sedan as it was being updated this time last year and so, compared to the 48 units sold in July 2018, it sold 2397 units in July 2019.
Maruti’s stalwarts in the compact segment, right from the Alto to Baleno, took a major hit as the automaker retailed 69,089 units in July of this year as compared to 112,083 units in the corresponding period last year.
The Indian car market as a whole has been facing a major slowdown in the last few months over a variety of factors. However, this tide is expected to turn with the onset of the festival season in the country.
