Maruti Suzuki saw a growth of 16.2 per cent in April 2016 as compared to April 2015. It achieved this by selling 1,26,569 units in April 2016 as compared to 1,11,748 units in the corresponding period last year.
Including exports, it sold 14, 29, 248 in the period April 2015 to March 2016 and of this its range up to the Ciaz comprised 10, 67, 464 units. The largest growth has come from its UV range which saw a whopping 260 per cent increase. This has no doubt been bolstered by the arrival of the Vitara Brezza which looks set to cross the 8,000 unit mark in April.
The small vehicle range sold 86,481 as compared to 84,188 units in April 2015. This is a growth of 2.7 per cent. However, what is surprising is that its entry-level vehicles like the Alto range and the Wagon R saw a drop of 9.9 per cent as a total of 31,906 units were sold in April 2016 as compared to 35,043 units in April 2015.
