Maruti Suzuki, India's largest carmaker, announced a 8.7 per cent hike in sales for February 2015. Maruti Suzuki official sales figures for last month show the company sold 1,18,551 units in comparison to the 1,09,104 units they sold in February 2014.
The company sold 1,07,892 units in India in February this year in comparison to the 99,758 units in February 2014; this includes sales of passenger and utility vehicles. This translates into a growth of 8.2 per cent.
If you compare the exports of February 2015 with February 2014, the sales are on an upward trend and show an increase of 14 per cent. The company sold 10,659 units as compared to 9,346 units in February last year.
The sales of the entry-level cars including the Alto and WagonR and the sales of the compact cars including Swift, Ritz, Celerio and Dzire accounted for the major chunk of sales figures. The Ciaz, the premium sedan and the carmaker's latest entry in the Indian market also helped the manufacturer better its sales for February.
