Maruti Suzuki has reported a fall of 2.6 per cent in car sales at 113,606 vehicles in January 2016, down from 116,606 units sold in January 2015
The biggest winner for Maruti is the Swift Dzire Tour, which registered the highest growth of 157.3 per cent with an increased sale of 2,167 units for the same period. Utility vehicles like the Gypsy, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, S-Cross recorded a growth of 26.2 per cent which is a rise of 1,682 units.
The biggest loser in terms of sales for Maruti Suzuki is the Ciaz, their mid-size sedan, it has had a decline of 9.6 per cent with sales down from 6,005 units to 5,431 units.
Exports declined strongly by 34.6 per cent to 7,223 cars in January 2016, down from 11,047 units in January 2015. The largest Indian car maker's domestic car sales stood at 1,06,383 units, as against 1,05,559 units sold in January 2015.
