- All variants of both cars get it
- No price increment
Maruti Suzuki has announced that the S-Presso and the Alto K10 will now get ESP as standard. This safety feature has been added to all the car’s variants without any price revision.
The S-Presso and the Alto K10 are entry-level affordable small cars based on the brand's HEARTECT Platform. The vehicles get some safety features like dual front airbags, reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD, collapsible steering column, engine immobiliser, and some more. The newly-added ESP stands for Electronic Stability Program, which helps improve vehicle stability and avoid accidents. ESP works in conjunction with the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control System (TCS) to prevent skidding of the vehicle in slippery or challenging road conditions.
The earlier models of these cars have attained dismal scores at the GNCAP crash safety tests. But it is good to see new safety features being introduced. We are hopeful that the addition of more safety equipment, reinforcements, and new tech will help cars achieve better safety ratings and eventually bring in even safer products for buyers.
