We spotted the Maruti Suzuki S-Cross SX4 testing on our soil a few days ago and now the folks at Indianautosblog have managed to get a spy shot of the interiors. The car made its global debut at the Geneva Motor Show in mid-2013 and then its Indian debut at the 2014 Auto Expo.
The interior shot of the S-Cross SX4 reveals that it will get the same design as shown in the car at the 2014 Auto Expo. This is the same design that is offered with the car in the European markets and it remains the same globally as well.
Some of the noticeable features include 2-DIN music system, climate control, steering mounted audio controls, power windows, two-tone dashboard as well as upholstery. What we are not expected to get in India is the 4WD system which is offered with the European- spec models. We expect that Maruti Suzuki will offer the S-Cross in India with rear AC vents, mobile charging points and an arm rest in the higher spec versions.
It will be offered with two engines- the 1.6-petrol which is there in the current sedan model as well as a new 1.6-litre diesel engine which is likely to be sourced from Peugeot. The petrol engines will most likely to be mated to a five-speed manual/ AMT while the diesel is expected to be mated to a six-speed manual which is visible in the picture).
The S-Cross SX4 as the name suggests is a crossover from the Indo-Japanese automaker and will rival the Renault Duster as well as the Ford EcoSport. It is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 12 lakh to Rs 15 lakh.
