Maruti Suzuki India sales once again reached six digits last month, with 12 per cent growth compared to same month last year. The country’s largest car manufacturer sold 1,03,200 units in November 2012 recording a hike in both domestic sales and exports.
The domestic sales increased by 9.67 per cent to 90,882, while the exports went up 38.37 per cent to 12,318 units. The drop in volumes of entry-level cars continues with the sales of the M800, Alto, WagonR and the A-Star fell by 5.76 per cent. The hatchback volumes on the other hand increased by 7.63 per cent, this comprises of the Ritz, Estilo and the Swift.
The sub-four meter sedan, the Dzire, also witnessed growth of 29.79 per cent to 13,502 units, against 10,403 units in last November. The SX4 and the Kizashi are the two models that witnessed a drop of over 50 per cent.
The main reason for the increase in sales in November was due to Diwali. Also MSI’s production was hit during this period last year due to labour issues.
