India’s leading automaker Maruti Suzuki recorded a marginal dip in its total sales for October. The brand sold 1,03,973 cars last month as against 1,05,087 units sold during the same period last year.
While the total domestic sales stood at 97,069 units, one per cent up, over October 2013 figures of 96,062 units, the total export sales dropped by 23.5 per cent to 6,904 units. The brand’s entry-level hatchback line-up witnessed a considerable drop in sales; however, the recently launched Ciaz has brought some respite, with sales of 6,345 units. In comparison, the old SX4 managed sales of just 262 units.
Moving forward, Maruti Suzuki is expected to put up a strong performance during November considering the number of completely new and updated models the brand has introduced off late.
