India’s largest car maker Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce their premium hatchback, the Baleno, to 100 newer markets in the coming days. The Baleno, which has already crossed the one lakh milestone sales in India will be shipped to Middle East, Latin America, and South East Asia countries.
In the coming months, the Baleno may be introduced in the Caribbean Islands, South American countries like Uruguay, Bolivia, Costa Rica, Honduras, Panama, and Peru, Middle Eastern countries including UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Lebanon, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia; South Africa and Indonesia.
Launched in October last year, Maruti Suzuki has already exported about 33,800 Baleno cars across the world. Currently, the Baleno is being exported to European countries like France, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, England, Austria, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Asian countries including Nepal, Bhutan, and also Chile, Israel, and Australia. The premium hatch has also become the first car from the Maruti Suzuki’s line-up to be exported to Japan.
On the production front, the Baleno is being manufactured at the company's Manesar plant in Haryana, where the automaker and its supplier partners have put in Rs 1,060 crore for the development of Baleno.
