Maruti Suzuki has opened bookings online for its eagerly awaited small car the Alto 800. One can visit the official Alto 800 page (http://www.marutisuzukialto800.com/), complete the details and pre-book the car which will launch on October 16.
When CarWale contacted dealers in two major metros, they said that a booking for the Alto 800 could be confirmed by paying an amount of Rs 5000 and added that the car would be delivered during the Diwali holidays.
The new model, which is expected to help the small car major revive falling sales, will be powered by a new 796cc engine which is likely to give an ARAI-certified 22kmpl, a feature the company hopes to bank on due to the high price of petrol. The car will replace the existing base model Alto and will have a sub-Rs 2 lakh price allowing it to compete with the Tata Nano and the Hyundai Eon. It is also expected to have a CNG option at the time of its launch.
