Maruti Suzuki India has announced a price hike across its model range effective from today, 16 August 2018. The carmaker has quoted the increase in commodity and distribution costs and adverse foreign exchange rates as the reason behind the price hike.
The price hike across the model range change varies with the model and variant. But Maruti says the increase in prices is up to Rs 6,100 (Ex-Showroom - Delhi).
Maruti Suzuki has now joined the list of carmakers who announced an increase in their prices this year. Hyundai announced an increase in their prices by two per cent in May, while Tata announced an increase by the same percentage last month. Models like Grand i10 and EcoSport also received a price hike this year. Luxury carmakers like BMW, Audi and Volvo announced an increase in their prices at the end of the fiscal year.
The increase in prices are also applicable for Nexa products. Maruti Suzuki is gearing up for launch of two new products this upcoming festive season - the Ciaz facelift and new-gen Ertiga.
