Maruti Suzuki may set up separate showrooms to retail its more premium models which will begin to arrive in the Indian market over the course of the next two years . There are expected to be around 30-35 showrooms spread out across various urban centers and their presence is expected to go a long way in helping Maruti Suzuki move its image beyond that of a small hatchback manufacturer.
The showrooms are expected to retail the iK2 and iM4 hatchback and SUV. In addition we also believe that the new Vitara and, when the showrooms open, SX4 S-Cross will be sold from these outlets. It is expected that the existing dealer network will be roped in to be a part of this image makeover process.
Just to recap, the Suzuki iK2 will be a premium hatchback and will slot in above the popular Swift while the iM4 is expected to a compact SUV that will rival the Ford EcoSport and Renault Duster in terms of offerings and pricing.
The Vitara is the latest generation of the Japanese automaker’s long running SUV and is expected to go on sale in Europe by the middle of this year. It carries a lot of the classic design and has a lot of the standard Suzuki interior. The engine and underpinnings have been sourced from the SX4 S-Cross.
