Maruti Suzuki may recall around 1.5 units of the Dzire compact sedan to rectify an issue with the fuel filler. The affected vehicles are cars that have been manufactured between 2013 and 2014 and will see a replacement for the fuel neck filler.
A report from Financial Express says that the component supplier is JBM, a company in which Maruti Suzuki has a 29.28 per cent stake. It is believed that out of the 1.5 lakh units recalled, some of the cars are still at the dealership so rectifying the issue will not cost the company as much as expected. The report also says that JBM has already been informed about the recall and has begun production of the replacement components.
It had previously recalled 1,492 units of the Dzire, Ertiga and A-Star in November 2013 to rectify an issue with the steering column.
