India’s biggest automotive show opens its gates in a couple of weeks’ time. Maruti Suzuki will take this as an opportunity to showcase even more vehicles, concept cars and mobility prowess at the Expo stage. Here is everything that will be present at the Maruti stall this year.
Maruti Suzuki had already teased the Future S concept a few weeks back. This concept will preview the design for their new compact car with SUV like characteristics. The teaser image gives us a glimpse of a high bonnet, almost vertical A-pillars and chunky proportions hinting it to be a crossover rather than a hatchback. The Future S Concept will give us a preview of the upcoming high-riding vehicle from the Indo-Japanese carmaker which will create a niche for itself in the Indian car market. The Future S Concept will be joined by a second concept as well, the details of which are scarce at the moment.
Apart from the two concepts, Maruti will celebrate the public debut of the much-awaited third-gen Swift. We have driven the new Swift and you can read all about it over here. The third-gen Swift moves to a new platform, it carries forward the same engines but now gets AMT gearbox as well apart from a new cabin and host of new features as standard. Prices are expected to remain on par with the outgoing model. Joining the Swift will be the current portfolio of Maruti all dressed up for the Auto Expo.
Maruti Suzuki might also bring in some interesting show cars from their international stages. There are rumours of the e-Survivor concept being present at the Expo. First showcased at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, the e-Survivor concept is a futuristic, two-seater, open-top off-roader vehicle with an electric powertrain. Expect some more concepts from other international shows as well.
Then there will be arenas at the Maruti stall showcasing their prowess in different mobility solutions such as hybrid, electric, or safety. These arenas will give the visitors a first-hand experience at the capabilities and future plans of the carmaker for the Indian market. A live demonstration of the iCreate and the unique customisation feature available for select Maruti vehicles will also be part of the carmaker’s portfolio at the Auto Expo.
