Maruti Suzuki India today launched the diesel variant of its sedan the SX4. The sedan will be available at an introductory price of Rs 7.74-8.62 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The launch of the diesel version of the sedan was long awaited and adds to the list of cars like Swift, Swift Dzire and the Ritz from the company's stable. The SX4 will be offered in three variants: VDi; ZDi and ZDi (with leather upholstery)
Maruti Suzuki India claims that the SX4 diesel will give a mileage of 21.5 kmpl. The car gets the 1.3- litre multijet engine which powers the Swift and the Swift Dzire. Churning out an output of 90bhp. Competing with the likes of the Tata Manza and the Fiat Linea, the SX4 diesel is sure to pack in the punch with its peppier engine. already available in the petrol and the CNG option, the company with the addition of the diesel variant takes the phrase 'Consumer Choice' to a whole different level.
