Maruti Suzuki has launched a sportier version of its popular Ciaz sedan dubbed the Ciaz S with prices starting at Rs. 9.39 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi for the petrol variant. Changes on the outside include spoiler pack that’s adds sporty extensions on the front, side and a rear underbody plus trunk-lid spoiler. The Ciaz in standard trim looks quite meek, but the spoiler pack does bring the car to life. On the inside, the S gets all new premium black interiors with grey chrome finishing and black leather seats as well.
Presenting the Ciaz S to Maruti Suzuki's valued customers, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales), Maruti Suzuki, Mr. R S Kalsi said, “Ciaz has established itself as one of the most progressive brands of Maruti Suzuki and has sold over 1.70 lakh units of Ciaz cumulative since its launch in October 2014. Introduction of Ciaz S will further strengthen the position of Ciaz in the market by catering to the requirements of a younger yet premium customer who believes in the sporty spirit of life.”
The Ciaz S will also be available in the diesel Smart Hybrid variant and is priced at Rs. 11.55 lakhs ex-showroom Delhi. The car will be available in as many as 7 colour options. The Ciaz is due for an extensive update soon, but until then the S variant should help Maruti hold fort against rivals like the Honda City, Skoda Rapid and the soon to be launched Hyundai Verna.
