The Swift hatchback from Maruti Suzuki has been serving the Indian market for quite sometime now. This time around, the country’s largest automaker has introduced special edition DLX kits in the Swift base LXi and LDi variants. The special edition petrol variant is priced at Rs 4.54 lakh, while the diesel is offered at Rs 5.95 lakh.
The decision to introduce limited edition variants seems to come at a right time when the company has been witnessing a drop in Swift sales in recent months. In terms of features, the special edition Maruti Swift DLX variants will come with Sony FM music system with Bluetooth, USB and front door speakers and all four power windows. The exterior sports blackened B-Pillar and fog lamps. For safety, the special edition variants will get smart warning indicators, engine immobilizer and child safety lock.
Mechanically, the limited edition Swift DLX remains the same, it continues to be offered in petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variant gets a 1.2-litre engine which puts out 83bhp of power and 115Nm of torque, while the 1.3-litre DDiS engine puts out 74bhp of power and 190Nm of peak torque. The company will be introducing the next-gen Swift in India sometime later next year, while the international markets might get it early in the last quarter this year.
