Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition of the Dzire called the Regal for Rs 5.59 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is based on the VXi petrol variant and features cosmetic upgrades both on the inside and outside and costs Rs 5804 more than the standard VXi variant.
Exteriors upgrades on the Dzire Regal includes chrome graphics with an inset regal logo on the sides, silver coloured upper and lower grille in the front, silver OVRM and body coloured mud flaps. It also gets a new colour shade called ‘Serene Blue’.
Inside, the Dzire Regal gets special seat covers, leather wrapped steering wheel, integrated music system (with tweeters), wooden finish in the door panels, beige floor mats, stainless steel door sill guards (with Regal stencilling) and for some strange reasons two leather cushions in the backseat. The engine is the same as the standard car – a 1.2-litre petrol mill producing 86PS and 114Nm of torque and powering the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox.
While some reports suggest that this is a car to celebrate five years of the Swift Dzire, it is believed that this is Maruti Suzuki’s answer to the recently launched Honda Amaze which seems to have taken the segment by storm.
