Maruti Suzuki issues recalls for Swift, Dzire, Ertiga and A-Star over steering column issue

Maruti Suzuki has announced that it will inspect the steering column for 1,492 vehicles (Ertiga: 306 units, Swift: 592 units, Dzire: 581 units, A-Star: 13 units), manufactured between October 19, 2013 and October 26, 2013 for issues with the steering column. Maruti Suzuki has said that if the steering column is found defective, it will replace the steering column free of cost.

The company has said that this exercise is limited to vehicles within the above specified range and does not pertain to any other vehicle of the company or any of its exports. It added that Maruti Suzuki dealers will contact owners of all vehicles in the above range and that the new steering column has been dispatched to the dealer workshops.

Users of the Ertiga, Swift, Dzire and A-Star purchased after October 19, 2013 can check the website www.marutisuzuki.com to ascertain if their car is among the above mentioned vehicles.
