Maruti Suzuki’s Ignis is a compact urban vehicle built on a new-generation platform whose design is bold and unconventional. This vehicle boasts of a high ground clearance that provides drivers with a sense of confidence even on rough roads. Maruti is positive that the Ignis will do well in the Indian compact car segment.
Dramatic features such as the front fascia with its sunglass-clad look and the shell-like round roof with straight lines give it a distinctive stance.
The 180mm of ground clearance, proportionate tyres jutting out at the four corners along with the attractive slits on the C-pillar accentuate the car's muscular exterior.
The rear end is characterised by large tail lamps with the Suzuki logo in between, and a wide grey accent across the bumper below the number plate.
Though the Ignis comes with a dual tone dashboard, it feels a bit basic around the centre console. The multifunction steering wheel looks familiar and the instrument cluster sports a blue ring.
The centre console on the Ignis is dominated by a modern touchscreen infotainment system and the quirky looking controls for the auto air conditioner.
