The Maruti Suzuki Ignis will debut on January 13 and the pictures of the leaked brochure are already on the internet. So here is a quick rundown on the different variants of the Maruti Ignis.
The Ignis will have four trims starting from Sigma, Delta, Zeta and the top-spec Alpha. While the 1.2-litre petrol engine will be available across all trims, the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel will not be offered on the Sigma (base) trim. Both the petrol and diesel will get five-speed manual gearbox option along with AMTs but the automated manual transmissions will be available only on the Delta and Zeta trims. Dual front airbags and ABS with EBD will be standard across the trims – a prerequisite for Nexa.
As for the trims, the base Sigma variant gets all four power windows, manual air-con and electronic power steering along with adjustable wing mirrors and halogen reflector headlamps. The second-to-base Delta trim gets steel rims with covers, 2-DIN audio system with Bluetooth and USB audio inputs and steering mounted audio controls over the Sigma. The Zeta trim gets alloy wheels and push button start in addition to the Delta specs. The top-spec Alpha gets touchscreen display, automatic climate control, height-adjustable driver seat, rear view parking camera and LED projector lamps with DRLs.
Just like the Vitara Brezza, you will have the option to custom build your own Ignis with three interior colour choices and contrast roof colour choices offered on the Alpha trim. We now await the prices and further details about the Maruti Ignis on January 13. Stay tuned.
