Maruti Suzuki, the country’s largest automaker has achieved a new milestone with over 2000 sales outlets in the country, which is by far the biggest number held by any automaker in the country. The numbers include the company’s total sales network - Maruti Suzuki dealerships, Nexa showrooms, and Maruti Suzuki True Value. The numbers are indeed impressive given the fact that sales network has been nearly doubled from 1100 outlets to 2000 outlets, in just a span of last five years.
The Indian automaker’s sales outlets are spread across 1634 cities from 800 cities in last five year period. Already a leading player in the country, the automaker plans to meet its target of having 4000 sales outlets by 2020, thus leaving no scope for any of the current manufacturers to even come close, let alone surpass it. The expansion plans include expanding its existing channels. The steady and strong growth plans will also help Maruti Suzuki achieve 20 lakh unit sales by 2020.
Moving forward, Maruti Suzuki has a strong focus on expanding its premium dealership, Nexa in the country. Currently present in 136 cities, the company reportedly had 222 Nexa outlets in the country by February 2017. With popular sellers like the Baleno, Ignis and the S-Cross under its wing, the company plans to grow to 250 outlets by the end of this fiscal as opposed to127 outlets in last year. For a while now reports have been doing rounds that Maruti Suzuki might start offering the new Ciaz via Nexa outlets. If that happens, it will mean a further growth in numbers from its premium outlet, while the sedan will get dual front airbags and ABS with EBD as standard.
