Maruti Suzuki has hiked the prices of all its vehicles in the range of Rs 2500 to Rs 5250 to offset fluctuations in foreign exchange and rise in cost of inputs. A company spokesperson said the hike, which was around one per cent, would come into effect immediately.
We reported last month that Maruti Suzuki India chief operating officer (marketing and sales) Mayank Pareek had said the company was going to raise its prices as it was facing a lot of pressure on its margins due to the foreign exchange fluctuation and rising input costs.
The Indian small car major is also considernig increasing its exports to eliminate the effect of unfavourable foreign exchange fluctuations.
