Raid de Himalaya, the country’s most popular motorsport event has begun its 18th edition in Manali. The event sees a total of 154 teams including 29 cars in the xtreme category, 79 bikes and 46 cars in the adventure category. The event which begins in Manali will see participants driving/riding towards Kaza-Sarchu-Leh and will end in Manali again.
Participants will cover a total distance of about 2000kms by the end of this journey. Expected to be tougher than last year, this time it will be a test of mental endurance as well. Last year’s event which started in Shimla went through Manali, Dalhousie, Rangdum and ended in Srinagar.
The 17th edition of the Maruti Suzuki Raid de Himalaya saw Raj Singh Rathore and his navigator Amber Udasi clinching the top prize in the Xtreme four-wheeler category with the Polaris. The top slot in the Adventure category was claimed by Jagmeet Gill with navigator Chandan Sen. While among women, Anu Rana and her navigator Poonam Rana won the Coup de Dames title. Stay tuned to witness who will claim the title this year. Results will be out on October 15.
