- The eVX electric SUV will be launched early next year
- It will be Maruti’s first electric offering in India
Maruti Suzuki is currently working on its first electric car for the Indian market, called the eVX. Ahead of its debut scheduled to take place at the start of 2025, new spy images confirm fresh details and features of the upcoming mid-size electric SUV.
As seen in the spy shots, the upcoming Maruti eVX is under testing in the production form. New elements visible here include the headlamps and taillights that will make it to the launch-spec car. Starting with the headlamps, it gets a two-piece LED DRL setup with an inverted L-shaped design at the bottom and a straight line at the top.
The taillights of the eVX, on the other hand, feature an angular set of LED taillights with a brake light pattern similar to that of the DRLs upfront. Also up for offer is likely to be an LED light bar at the posterior.
We can expect a whole lot of new features in the eVX when it debuts early next year, and some of these will include a 360-degree camera, rotary dial for the drive modes, two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, floating centre console, electrically adjustable front seats, and more.
Maruti has remained tight-lipped when it comes to the technical specifications of the Hyundai Creta EV- and Honda Elevate-rivaling electric SUV. That said, we expect it to arrive with a 60kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that could return a range of 550km on a single full charge.
