- It is expected to launch towards the end of 2019.
- Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Sport is likely to get a six-seat configuration.
- It will be available with 1.5L petrol and diesel engines.
Maruti Suzuki introduced a new 1.5L diesel motor on the Ertiga late last month. Now, according to our sources, the company is expected to launch a new top-end variant of the MPV, christened Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Sport. The model in question debuted in Indonesia in March 2019. The sportier version is likely to be launched in India towards the end of this year.
As the name suggests, the Ertiga Sport gets a sporty body kit, complete with bumper extensions, faux skid plate, side skirts and a rear spoiler. The MPV also features a new mesh grille, two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels and LED daytime running lights that surround the fog-lamp enclosures. The Ertiga Sport will come with an all-black cabin and faux wood inserts on the dashboard and door panels.
Moreover, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga Sport is likely to come in a six-seat layout with individual captain seats in the middle row. If this is the case, then the Ertiga Sport would be the first Maruti Suzuki car to get such a setup. The Ertiga Sport will be based on the current top-end Z+ variant and will come with the same set of features.
We expect the Ertiga Sport to be powered by the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines, mated to five-speed and six-speed manual transmissions, respectively. In addition to the manual gearbox, the petrol motor will also come mated to a four-speed torque-converter automatic.
