Maruti Suzuki will soon launch the Ertiga with revisions to the exterior setting it apart from the current version. Another test mule was spotted in a disguised avatar in a bid to hide the changes made.
In terms of appearance, the fascia of the Ertiga gets a new chrome two-slat grille in place of the current four-slat one. There might be revisions to the front bumper as well with new fog lamp housings. The tail lamps might be tweaked and the Vdi/Vxi and Zdi/Zxi versions might get electrically foldable OVRMs. The cabin should be in line with the new features introduced with the Ciaz and facelifted Swift. This means the push-button start feature might be carried over to the top-end version.
The revamped Ertiga is expected to be powered by the same engine options - the 1.4-litre petrol unit churning 94bhp of power and 130Nm of torque, and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine producing 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox. The CNG variant will also be continued to be offered.
The Ertiga has been ruling the compact MPV segment for quite long now, but has faced tough competition from the newly launched Honda Mobilio. The refreshed Ertiga should bring in a breath of fresh air for the manufacturer that should help them attract some more prospective buyers. With added features, the revised model might be slightly expensive than the current model, still slotting it in the price bracket of Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs 8.6 lakh.
