Maruti Suzuki will launch the Ertiga facelift on August 20 at the 2015 International Auto Show. The manufacturer might then launch the car for the Indian market as well.
The Ertiga MPV gets some revisions to the exterior and interior giving it a fresh avatar. There is a new chrome two-slat grille in place of the current four-slat one and the front bumper is also restyled with new fog lamp housings. The tail lamps are slightly revised and the Vdi/Vxi and Zdi/Zxi versions come equipped with electronically foldable OVRMs. The cabin will be in line with the new features introduced with the Ciaz and facelifted Swift. This means the push-button start feature will be added to the top-end version.
The revamped Ertiga will be powered by the same engine options. The 1.4-litre petrol engine churns out 94bhp of power and 130Nm of torque, and the 1.3-litre Multijet diesel engine produces 89bhp of power and 200Nm of torque. Both engines are mated to a five-speed manual gearbox.
This facelifted Ertiga is exported from India to Indonesia via CKD kits. So Maruti Suzuki might launch this model in our country as well. The Ertiga has been ruling the compact MPV segment for quite long now. The much needed refreshed avatar will then help attract prospective buyers. With added features, the revised model might be priced a little higher over the current model still slotting it in the price bracket of Rs 5.82 lakh to Rs 8.6 lakh.
