The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki will soon introduce the updated Eeco with mandatory safety features ahead of the October 2019 deadline. As seen in spy images, the 2019 Eeco MPV will get standard safety features in the form of a driver side airbag, ABS, reverse parking sensors, seat belt reminder and high-speed warning system. Changes will be limited to safety feature upgrades, while mechanically and visually the vehicle does not get any new changes.
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Eeco will continue to be powered by a 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine that generates 73bhp at 6,000rpm and 101Nm of torque at 3,000rpm. The seven-seat variant of the Eeco MPV is also offered with a CNG option. Reports indicate that the vehicle might be re-engineered in the future to pass the full-frontal impact, frontal offset and side impact crash tests.
On the pricing aspect, owing to fresh safety feature upgrades, the new Eeco is likely to be priced a little higher than the current model. More details about the vehicle will be known in the days to come.
