- Gets two battery pack options
- Will rival the Creta Electric
Maruti Suzuki has officially pulled the covers off the new e Vitara electric SUV at the ongoing 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. The model will also spawn a Toyota derivative under the Urban Cruiser nameplate.
Underpinned by the brand’s e Heartect platform, the e Vitara is offered with 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs, each paired with a single electric motor. The smaller unit generates 142bhp, while the larger unit develops 172bhp. The torque output of 192Nm is common for both versions. The company claims a range of over 500km on a single full charge.
In terms of design, the new e Vitara gets triangular-shaped LED headlamps and taillights, fog lights on either end of the air dam, chunky body cladding all around, blacked-out roof, 18-inch wheels, and ORVMs, and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles.
Inside, the Creta Electric rival comes equipped with a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, EPB with auto-hold function, wireless mobile charger, automatic climate control, and cruise control. It is the first Maruti car to receive an ADAS suite, and here it gets a Level 2 version.
Also up for offer is a 10-way power adjustable driver seat, sliding and reclining function for the rear seats, seven airbags, Harman Kardon-sourced music system, drive modes, ambient lighting, 10.1-inch infotainment system, 10.25-inch instrument console, ventilated front seats, TPMS, and disc brakes at the front and rear.
