The new Dzire from Maruti Suzuki is the new hot-seller in the compact sedan segment in India this season. The sales figures from the company also support these claims. According to their sales chart, Maruti Suzuki sold 30,934 units of the new Dzire in August as against 14,703 units sold in July this year. Interestingly, the new Dzire has outnumbered in sales compared to Maruti Suzuki’s all-time best seller, the Alto, which sold 21,521 units in August 2017.
The new Dzire gets refreshingly new cosmetic upgrades and features as compared to the older generation model. The vehicle gets a face which is similar to that of the Ciaz, all thanks to the chrome inserts around the grille and fog lamp housing. The rear also gets a fresh upgrade with chrome inserts, redesigned tail lamps and LED indicators. Mechanically, it continues to be powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series engine that generates 83bhp of power and 114Nm of torque, while the diesel version gets a 1.3-litre Multijet engine that generates 75bhp of power and 190Nm of torque. The new Dzire is available in a total of eight variants among which six of them are also available in AMT options.
Along with new style element, the new Dzire has also emerged as a popular choice owing to the optional AMT in diesel as well as petrol guise. Whereas, its competitors like the Hyundai Xcent and the Honda Amaze offer automatic transmission option only in petrol guise. Going forward, the sales numbers for the new Maruti Suzuki Dzire is likely to see further growth during the festive season.
