Maruti Suzuki Dzire reaches the one million sales milestone

Maruti Suzuki's Swift Dzire recently crossed the one million sales landmark. The sedan now accompanies the Alto, Swift and WagonR in the 'elite million club'.

The Swift Dzire reached the one lakh units sold landmark in September 2009, after it was first launched in India in March 2008. The sales numbers of the Dzire have sky-rocketed since then. The five lakh units sold milestone was reached at the start of 2013 and within two years, the car's sales doubled to achieve this huge success.

R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India said, “DZire is a complete package. Its refreshed looks, rich equipment list, enhanced fuel efficiency, have been warmly received by customers and have enabled us to strengthen sales and enhance share in a tough market. We thank all DZire customers for their patronage to the brand."

The Swift Dzire has tasted huge success in the Indian market and continues to sell not just in India but abroad as well. The vehicle is exported to Africa, South America, Central America, Middle East ASEAN and SAARC countries and the cumulative exports accounted to 50,000 units till June 2015.
