Prices for the new Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire have been leaked online ahead of the car’s launch in the Indian market. The much awaited compact sedan will be available in seven trims, with prices starting at Rs 5.07 lakh for the base LXi petrol, going all the way up to Rs 7.81 lakh for the top-end ZDi diesel variant (both ex-showroom, Delhi).
As seen in the other facelifted cars from Maruti Suzuki, the new Swift Dzire will be mechanically identical to the previous model, and will feature only a few cosmetic upgrades. The front of the car has been revised with a new grille with a single chrome slat and has new chrome-lined housings for the fog lamps. The Swift Dzire facelift is expected to get a revised interior with new upholstery options, similar to the one in the Swift facelift.
Beneath the skin, the Swift Dzire will continue to be based on an extended version of the Swift hatchback’s platform. It gets two engine options - a 1.2-litre K-Series VVT petrol engine producing 85bhp and 114Nm of torque and a 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engine producing 74bhp and 190Nm of torque.
Reports suggest that few dealerships in Delhi have already started accepting bookings for the car for a token of Rs 25,000. And though the company has refused to confirm this, rumours indicate that deliveries of the Swift Dzire facelift will commence in the first week of next month. The Swift Dzire competes with other sub-four metre sedans like the Honda Amaze, Hyundai Xcent, Tata Zest and the upcoming Forg Figo sedan.
