Maruti Suzuki registered a 6.8 per cent growth in the domestic sales last month. The Indian auto major sold 1,06,083 units in September compared to 99,290 units sold in the same month last year.
While the sales of the small cars like the Alto and the WagonR has been almost constant, the biggest hike has been the number of the premium cars. Even the mid-sized cars like the Swift and the Dzire haven’t seen a drastic change. The S-Cross and the Ciaz were not part of the Maruti Suzuki lineup and these two are the main reason behind the growth.
Unfortunately the exports for Maruti Suzuki dipped from 10,452 units to 7,676 units and that brought down the overall numbers of the company. Overall, the company has seen a growth of 3.7 per cent last month.
The growth trend should continue in the same manner in the next month with the launch of two more products. The Ertiga facelift will be launched in the next few days followed by the new premium hatchback, the Baleno. Both these cars will be launched strategically coinciding with the festive season to increase the company’s volumes.
