The facelifted 2013 Wagon R is expected to be launched soon. CarWale spoke to a Maruti Suzuki dealer who confirmed that they had finished stocks of the current model and had stopped takings bookings for it . This means that the new car which has been spotted in a Maruti Suzuki television commercial titled ‘Festivals’ is expected to arrive in showrooms soon.
The commercial does not give away many details but shows us that the facelifted Wagon R gets minor changes to the front end which includes a revised grille which has been given the chrome treatment. The air dam has now become taller and has been separated from the fog lights which have now got a revised housing. The rear end has not got any major changes and looks pretty much similar to the current model. The interiors as well as the engine line up are all expected to remain exactly the same as the 2012 model, but with a significant upgrade in features.
We can expect this model to hit showrooms soon with a hike in the price (up to Rs 20,000) that the Indo-Japanese automaker had announced on December 6. It is likely that Maruti Suzuki may also launch a diesel version of the tallboy in June but so far there is no official word on this as yet.
