The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is all set make its Indonesaian debut in 2015. It was launched in October of this year and has been a major success for the Indo-Japanese automaker. It is expected to take the company a long way in terms of moving its image away from a manufacturer of A-segment and B-segment hatchbacks to a manufacturer of much more premium vehicles.
The Indonesian market will get only the petrol variants of the Ciaz due to low demand for diesels. There is also the fact that the Ertiga is already locally assembled with the same 1.4-litre K-Series engine that produces 91bhp and 130Nm of torque. Gearbox options are expected to include a five-speed manual as well as a four-speed automatic. We believe that it will have similar equipment levels, feature list and variant nomenclature as the Ertiga.
Maruti Suzuki, who is producing the car for the parent company from its plants outside Delhi, will send the car to Indonesia via the CBU route. It is already expected to begin exporting the car to the Middle-East and Africa by mid-2015.
