The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has been spotted completely undisguised at the manufacturer’s factory yard in Manesar. Though the car has been spotted testing around Delhi and Gurgaon quite a few times, this is the first time the car has been spotted completely uncamouflaged.
Though the exact dimensions are still unknown, the Ciaz might be the longest offering in the C-segment, owing to the SX4 S-Cross platform that it is based on. Going by the pictures, it is evident that the design of the new sedan hasn’t deviated much from that of the Ciaz concept, which was unveiled earlier this year at the Delhi Auto Expo. The front of the Ciaz features an inverted trapezoidal grille with four chrome slats and the ‘Suzuki’ logo. The headlamps are elongated wrap-around units with projectors, which are expected to be offered as standard throughout the range.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will be available with two engine options - a 1.4-litre petrol and a 1.3-litre diesel. Besides a five-speed manual unit, gearbox options will also include a CVT automatic unit, though the company hasn’t confirmed whether it will be available with both the engines.
The report further states that the Ciaz will be offered in six variants and seven paint schemes - midnight black, silky silver, glistening grey, clear beige, chocolate brown and fire brick red. The car is expected to be launched next month as a replacement for the SX4 and will rival the likes of the Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Vento and the Ford Fiesta.
