Maruti Suzuki has sold over 1.7 lakh units of the Ciaz since its launch in October 2014 in India. The sedan has proved to be a progressive brand for the carmaker. No wonder the company is doing all it can do make it even more popular. Here's all that you will get to know about the recently launched Ciaz S variant from these pictures.
Maruti Suzuki says the Ciaz S will cater to the needs of a younger yet premium customer, who believes in the sporty spirit of life. Its introduction will further strengthen the position of Ciaz in the market.
The Ciaz S is basically a cosmetically enhanced version of the Alpha trim. The petrol model costs Rs 9.39 lakhs and the diesel smart hybrid is priced at Rs 11.55 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The exterior look has been jacked up thanks to a body kit. This includes side skirts and even extensions to the front and rear bumper.
There is also a trunk-lid spoiler to give the sedan a distinctive look. This is the same add-on that can be had through Maruti Suzuki's genuine accessories otherwise.
The feature list and interior of the sedan is relatively unchanged, save for the new black interior instead of the dual tone scheme. It now comes with grey chrome finishing too.
The mechanicals remain the same and the new Maruti Ciaz S comes powered by the same set of engine options - 1.4-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel engine.
The petrol unit churns out 91bhp whereas the diesel motor produces 88bhp and comes with SHVS technology.
Transmission duties are taken care of by a five-speed manual as standard. Then, a four-speed automatic gearbox is also offered on the petrol version.
The Ciaz S will continue to be offered in seven colours - Nexa blue, pearl sangria red, pearl snow white, metallic silky silver, pearl midnight black, pearl metallic dignity brown and metallic glistening gray.
