Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has reached yet another milestone as over one lakh units of the Ciaz have been sold till date. These cumulative sales figures are only considering the units sold in the domestic market.
MSIL has met quite a bit of success with the launch of the Ciaz sedan and the car continues to return good sales figures for the manufacturer. It was launched in October 2014 and has now achieved this landmark in over 18 months in the market.
R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing and Sales, MSIL, said, "Ciaz is tastefully designed borrowing cues from European styling that is clean, elegant and clutter-free. It carries a very distinct style. On the inside it comes with some great features and a class leading infotainment system. The vehicle’s ride quality and comfort is superior. Use of technological innovations like SHVS has made it even more attractive."
This feat might not look like a spectacular one as Maruti Suzuki's small cars have been ruling the sales charts for quite a long time. However, it is for the first time that a C-Segment car from Maruti has achieved this milestone and that makes it worth appreciating. Otherwise the sedan has not really received a thundering reception. It came as a replacement to the SX4 in India to rival the Honda City and other C segment of cars. Not that the car has made a severe dent in the City's sales, but it has managed to achieve 40 per cent market share in its segment for the mnaufacturer.
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is offered in both, petrol and hybrid diesel versions. There is also an RS version that gets all the features and benefits of the Ciaz's Z+ variant with additional cosmetic tweaks. Some of the features include projector headlamps, alloy wheels, turn indicators on ORVMs, leather seat upholstery, leather-wrapped steering, start-stop button, etc. to name a few.
