Maruti Suzuki Celerio gets optional safety features across the range

Maruti Suzuki is offering the ABS and front airbags as optional across the Celerio range. The base petrol LXi (O) variant of the Celerio with the manual transmission and the safety features is priced at Rs 4.16 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).  

The company is charging around Rs 20,000 extra over the standard variants for the safety features, however, the VXi CNG variant only gets the front airbags for a premium of Rs 10,000. Maruti is slowly updating its entire lineup offering the basic safety features across the model range. The Swift and Dzire lineup was also updated recently, with the option of availing safety features with the base variants.

Speaking about the update, Mr. R S Kalsi, Executive Director, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India, said, “Through Celerio we have always tried to offer the best to customers. By offering safety features like airbags for driver and co-driver, and Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) from the base variant onwards in Celerio, we are making it more attractive for customers. I am happy that we are able to offer these safety features on the Celerio much ahead of regulations.”
