The country’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki, introduced Android Auto in the Ignis. Recently, the new Dzire sub-compact sedan was the latest one to receive it. Now, the Indian automaker has started updating Android Auto in older SmartPlay infotainment systems which were offered in the Ciaz, S-Cross, Baleno and the Vitara Brezza. Additionally, Maruti Suzuki is also updating the navigation system with a 2017 version that will be valid till 2020.
Customers eager for an update can reach out to their nearest Maruti Suzuki and Nexa dealership for a free update. The new Android Auto update will enable users to connect their smartphone to the infotainment system to access a host of apps and widgets along with access to contacts, Google maps, hands-free calling and more.
Maruti Suzuki first introduced the SmartPlay infotainment system in the S-Cross way back in August 2015. The fresh upgrade will further strengthen the brand’s footing in the Indian market with a fresh set of upgrades to its cars, featuring a SmartPlay infotainment system.
