Maruti Suzuki Baleno variants details have been leaked ahead of the launch. The premium hatchback will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options in four trim levels.
Like in the S-Cross, the Baleno variants will be called Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. The Sigma is the base version and does not get many features, however, basic safety features are standard and even this variant gets ABS-EBD and dual airbags. The Delta gets a basic music system with Bluetooth and steering mounted audio controls, 60:40 split rear seats, electrically adjustable ORVMs and four power windows.
Next in line is the Zeta variant that gets leather wrap, telescopic adjustment for the steering, LED DRLs, engine start button, auto headlamps and alloy wheels. This variant covers most of the features and the only additions to the Alpha variant are the projector headlamps and the touch-screen music system with navigation and rear parking sensors.
The petrol variants of the Baleno will be powered by the 1.2-litre VVT engine tuned to develop 83bhp and 115Nm of torque. The petrol versions will be available in a choice of five-speed manual across the range and a four-speed automatic in Delta and Zeta trims. Also, though the reports suggest that the car will get a 1.3-litre engine with 75bhp, we believe the car will use the version with VGT turbo producing 90bhp and 200Nm of torque.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno will be sold through the Nexa dealerships and the reports also suggest that the dealers have started accepting bookings for a token of Rs 25,000 and commitment of delivery before Diwali.
