Maruti Suzuki Baleno prices hiked in India by up to Rs 19,499

- Prices of petrol variants have increased by Rs 12,000.

Maruti Suzuki has increased the prices of the Baleno by up to Rs 19,499, depending on variants and powertrain options. Earlier this week, the company introduced a new 1.2L Dualjet SHVS BS-VI petrol engine in Maruti Suzuki Baleno, while it also updated its existing 1.2L K12B petrol motor for BS-VI compliance.

Although the price hike for the petrol variants is Rs 12,000, diesel models have witnessed a price increase between Rs 12,300 to Rs 19,499. This is a general price hike, which allows the company to differentiate between the new 1.2L Dualjet motor and the diesel variants. Earlier, the Baleno 1.2L Dualjet SHVS was priced just about Rs 7,000-14,000 lower than the corresponding diesel trims.

While the Baleno SHVS hybrid delivers a fuel economy of 23.87 km/l, the diesel motor trumps it with an efficiency figure of 27.39 m/l.
