-Â Â It is priced between Rs 3.66 lakhs to Rs 4.45 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi).
-Â Â The new-generation Alto will be introduced towards the end of 2019.
Maruti Suzuki has updated the Alto K10 with standard safety features to meet the safety norms that came into effect from April 2019. Features like ABS with EBD, driver-side airbag, speed alert system and front seat belts reminder are standard across the trims. The addition of the safety kit has resulted in a price hike in the range of Rs 16,515 to Rs 26,946.
The Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 now costs between Rs 3.66 lakhs to Rs 4.45 lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). The standard safety features comply with the Automotive Industry Standard (AIS) 145 safety norms. The regulations mandate that every four-wheeler should come with ABS and EBD from 1 April 2019, while the driver's airbag, seat belt reminders and speed alert system will be mandated from 1 July 2019.
Recently, Alto's primary rivals, Renault Kwid and Datsun redi-GO also received updates to its safety kit in order to abide by the new regulations. That said, this could be a stop-gap measure by Maruti Suzuki to keep the Alto relevant in the market until the next-generation Alto is launched in the country towards the end of this year.
The new Maruti Suzuki Alto will meet the stringent crash test guidelines that come into effect from 1 October 2019. These norms require every car to comply with regulations related to frontal impact, offset-frontal impact and side impact.
